Germany will allocate EUR 1.5 billion for humanitarian aid worldwide

According to Ukrinform news agency, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has promised to provide humanitarian aid EUR 1.5 billion euros worth to countries in need.
Thus, Germany expresses its support to people in countries that have overtaken disaster of extraordinary proportions.

«In 2017, Germany was the second largest bilateral humanitarian donor in the world. In 2018, she will continue to fund worldwide aid projects about EUR 1.5 billion worth,» – said Haiko Maas.

According to the Minister, «Germany has become an integral part of the international humanitarian aid system.»
It is known that the United Nations Organization for Humanitarian Assistance, the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent, as well as non-governmental organizations are cooperated with Berlin in this field.
Regarding the humanitarian support for Ukraine, Germany significantly helps temporarily displaced persons.
Recall that the world celebrated World Humanitarian Day on August 19.
