In the center of Kyiv on Khreshchatyk street communal utilities recorded 10-cm layers of silt, which were formed due to a severe thunderstorm.

According to deputy chairman of the Kyiv city state administration Petro Panteleyev layers of silt shut down the city sewage.

«This night a 10 cm layer of silt moved along two parts of Khreshchatyk, blocking the rainwater grilles. Branches and leaves also moved with water, so Khreshchatyk was so seriously undermined», deputy mayor explained.

It is also noted that in Kyiv this night bad weather passed by a strip: the most affected districts are Shevchenkovskyi, Pecherskyi, Dniprovskyi and part of Desnyanskiy.

According to Panteleyev, about 200 trees and 5 power poles have been felled. There are damages to roofs and facades of buildings – 5 houses. Also, the roadway is flooded near the metro station Dorogozhichi, on Olena Teligi street.

«We are now able to respond to any weather challenges», Panteleyev added.

As The Journalist reported the downpour in Kiev flooded Khreshchatyk, the trees were felled, the roofs were torn down.
