It is expected that the military test site will be located 60 kilometers far from the border with Russia. The works will be completed this fall. This was reported by the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
The source informs that in the Lithuanian city of Kazlų Rūda there will be built a military airfield complying with NATO standards.
The project is financed by the US European Reassurance Initiative (ERI) with the participation of the US Air Force Repair Squadron Engineer (RED HORSE).
It is noted that aircraft will be able to work out air strikes on ground targets, and personnel for the Air Force will be trained there.
