Foreign economic activity is one of the main forms of economic relations between Ukraine and foreign countries, primarily because it plays a significant role in improving economic well-being of the state and living standards of the population and strengthening the state’s position in the world arena. In particular, business relations between Ukraine and Hungary are working and developing efficiently. In the first two months in 2018, trade turnover amounted to $ 483.6 million, of which Ukrainian exports – $ 286.5 million, imports from Hungary – $ 197.1 million. About what is needed to strengthen the Ukrainian-Hungarian export-import relations, Hungarian businessman, owner of the consulting company East West Mentor, representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hungary Zoltan Horvath, reports BUSINESSWOMAN.
«Export-import operations as an integral part of foreign trade are the most important source of profit for a separate enterprise and the state as a whole. Ukraine is a huge and very beautiful country with extremely friendly people. In general, the world trend, which is seen both in Ukraine and in Hungary – is a significant increase in requirements for the quality of services and products. Demand for products, produced from high-quality raw materials and with appropriate professionalism, grows both in export and import terms.
At the same time, relations between the two countries are filled with controversial issues. During last period, there are more and more new problematic issues that could be solved by appropriate communication, strategic dialogues and readiness for constructive cooperation.
In addition to political misunderstandings between Kyiv and Budapest, it is necessary to resolve issue of commercial relations between two countries and the problems of uncompleted infrastructure projects. I am convinced that both Ukrainian and Hungarian businessmen have an extraordinary desire and readiness for closer cooperation. Moreover, both countries have appropriate opportunities for this. I believe that more communication is needed to adjust and implement all this. We need to know each other better. Businessmen need to know that their investments are safe, so they see the prospect and have the opportunity to make plans for future business projects. If it is possible to create and guarantee such security, cooperation will be closer. That’s why recently in Ukraine, along with my partner Anna Krysiuk, we opened Ukrainian representation of our company East West Mentor UA and believe in mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukrainian and Hungarian businesses».
