In case of gas prices increase for the population, citizens of Ukraine will be able to rely on subsidies, Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said on air Channel 5.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, negotiations are continuing with the International Monetary Fund to provide the next tranche of loans to Ukraine, and raising the price of gas for the population is one of the main conditions for allocating funds.
As noted by Rozenko, the government takes into account the fact that world trends indicate a constant increase in the price of gas, but the current standard of living of Ukrainians does not allow us today to say that the cost of this energy resource can be significantly increased.
«It is very important for us at the moment to maintain a balance between how world markets react and, most importantly, to protect people. To date, the system of subsidies that is – works, and can protect every person, and every family, even at the time of raising prices», – said Rozenko.
