US Congress provides Ukraine with $ 250 million for security assistance

House of Representatives of the Congress of the United States of America supported the allocation of $ 250 million to help Ukraine in the field of security.

«House of Representatives of the US Congress adopted the draft law «US budget for 2019 for the needs of national defense», report said.
The embassy noted that the amount allocated to the US Department of Defense to provide assistance to Ukraine in the field of security was set at $ 250 million, of which $ 50 million should be directed at lethal weapons.

The document includes the main provisions of the draft Law on Cooperation with Ukraine on Cybersecurity, which provides assistance to the Ukrainian state in strengthening its own capabilities to protect against cyberattacks.
The draft law «The US budget for 2019 for national defense needs» should still be supported by the Senate and signed by the US president.

As «Journalist» reported, to strengthen the security and defense of Ukraine, the US government will allocate $ 200 million.
