President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko vetoed the law adopted by the the Verkhovna Rada aimed to preserve Ukrainian forests and to prevent smuggling of illegal timber.
This was stated in a message on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
«It is being prepared for consideration with presidential veto,» – the state of the bill, that was sent to President’s signature on July 9, was indicated.
As of yesterday, July 23, the bill «was returned with offers of the President,» but so far the website of the Parliament has not indicated what exactly the president is proposing to change.
As The Journalist reported, The Cabinet of Ministers prepared a draft law on criminal liability for smuggling.
