President Petro Poroshenko has ratified laws on international legal cooperation with the Netherlands related to the crash of MN17 flight Malaysian Airlines in Donbas. This was reported by the Presidential Administration press service.
It is reported that the president has signed the laws «On ratification of the agreement between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on international legal cooperation regarding crimes related to the crash of the MH17 flight of Malaysian Airlines on July 17, 2014» and «On the implementation of the agreement between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on international legal cooperation on crimes related to the crash of the MH17 flight of Malaysian airlines on July 17, 2014.»
«The ratification of the agreement and the implementation of its provisions in national legislation ensures cooperation between the competent authorities of both states, determines the procedure and specifics of the implementation of certain procedural actions within the framework of the agreement with a view to conducting effective criminal prosecution and conviction of persons involved in aircraft strikes within the judicial system of the Netherlands. In particular, the specifics of the transfer of criminal proceedings of Ukraine to the Netherlands, the implementation of a request by the competent authority of the Netherlands to ensure the participation of a person as a defendant in judicial proceedings in the videoconference mode, the Netherlands request for the interrogation of a witness or expert in videoconference mode are regulated,» – the report says.
It is worth noting that the agreement between Ukraine and the Netherlands on international legal cooperation in relation to crimes related to the MH17 disaster was signed on July 7, 2017 in Tallinn.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Poroshenko had signed a law on strengthening the social protection of the Dignity Revolution and ATO members.
