President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law of Ukraine «On ratification of the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Finland on implementation of the project «Finnish support for the Ukrainian school reform», adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 3, 2018. This was reported by the Presidential press service.
It is reported that in accordance with this document, Finland will provide support for a total of EUR 6 million on non-refundable terms for reformation of Ukrainian school. Co-financing from the Ukrainian side is not expected. Instead, the state will involve competent civil servants in the implementation of the project, as well as provide a separate room in the building of the Ministry of Education for the project office.
«The document is the legal basis for the effective implementation of the project «Finnish support for the reform of the Ukrainian school» and attraction of technical assistance from the Government of Finland in support of the reform of general secondary education in Ukraine,» – the report said.
