Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that politicians should not speculate on history.
The head of state said the day before, on July 8th, after laying flowers at the monument to the victims of the conflict in the village of Honchi Brid in the Kovel district of the Volyn oblast, [press-service of the president](http://www.president.gov.ua/news/suchasni- pokolinnya-ukrayinciv-i-polyakiv-ne-mayut-prava-sta-48574).
«Politicians should not speculate on history. History belongs to historians, and politics to politicians», Poroshenko noted.
At the same time, the president of Ukraine did not comment the words of his Polish colleague about the exact number of dead in 1943-44 in Volyn.
«Ukraine and Poland should be friendly, so that the third party will not win, which only awaits it», the head of state said.
As «Journalist» reported, Poroshenko called on Poland to review the legislation on Institute of National Remembrance.
