President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko suggested to revise the changes to the law on the Polish Institute of National Memory and to revise the provision on Ukrainians.

According to the website of the Head of the State, Poroshenko said this during his working visit to Poland, at the opening ceremony of the memorial to Ukrainians who died at the hands of the Polish «peasant battalions» and units of the Army Kraiova in 1944. The memorial was opened in the Polish village of Sakhryn.

«We stand against unilateral political assessments of our common historical past, because they do not contribute to the process of our historical reconciliation. We support the initiative to reconsider the known changes in the Polish legislation on the Institute of National Memory and we expect that the situation concerning the evaluation of Ukrainians will also be revised», – Poroshenko stated.

The President also confirmed the loyalty of the Ukrainian side to the political agreements reached last December at the meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Kharkiv, regarding the unblocking of search and exhumation works by the Polish side in the territory of Ukraine.

As «The Journalist» reported, Presient Duda called on Ukraine to give "names" to the graves and put in order the cemeteries of the Poles.
