Ukraine and Serbia are very close to signing a free trade agreement, the press service of the president of Ukraine reported.
Petro Poroshenko announced this on the eve, July 3, during the Ukrainian-Serbian business forum, in which he took part along with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
«I agree with the President of Serbia that we do not promise anything. But we are very close to an agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Serbia», said the head of the Ukrainian state.
Poroshenko noted that he was pleased to meet with representatives of more than 100 companies at the forum. The President informed on the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, on macroeconomic stabilization and GDP growth, on judicial reform, decentralization and infrastructure development, energy sector reform, privatization, deregulation.
Poroshenko is also focused on anti-corruption steps, in particular, on ensuring transparency of the public procurement system and countering the «mask-show».
«We also facilitate the exchange of customs information, which is an important anti-corruption step», the president added.
In turn, the Serbian president stressed the business’s interest in the Ukrainian-Serbian business forum. According to him, the parties agreed at the highest level to assist investors of the two countries.
As the «Journalist» reported, Ukrainians received a 90-day visa-free stay in Serbia.
