Finance Minister of Ukraine: there will be no default in Country

There will be no default in Ukraine, and the government does not even consider the scenario of termination of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This was stated by Acting Finance Minister Oksana Markarova.

«We will not have a default in Ukraine, and we definitely do not need it. All the defaults in economy that has been happened in the country – if it were not so-called technical defaults, when a country enters into a restructuring of its obligations – it is realy bad», – Markarova stated.

Also acting Finance Minister said that the Government does not even consider the scenario of termination of cooperation with the IMF.

«We are doing everything to coordinate all the issues. Moreover, I hope that everything will be agreed in the near future and Ukraine will receive the next IMF tranche until the fall», – Markarova added.

She also said that there will be no sequester (spending cuts) of the state budget this year, since there are clear trends indicates the State Budget will be fulfilled, and the Government has a clear idea how this should be done.

As «The Journalist» reported, the IMF mission will visit Ukraine upon condition the gas price will be revised.
