The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposes to increase the penalty for ignoring the seat belts in the car to 50 minimum non- taxable incomes of citizens equivalent to UAH 850.
This was reported by the People’s Front MP Anton Herashchenko. According to him, people who are not fasten seat belts could die or get serious injure.
«Today the penalty for not wearing seat belts is just 51 UAH and many people just do not pay much attention to it, although their life depends on it», – the deputy stressed.
The Parliement registered the bill No. 8492, which introduces changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses. It will help to reduce the deaths and injuries on the roads of Ukraine by increasing the use of seat belts and helmets. This bill is proposed to increase the the penalty for not wearing a seat belt from 51 to 850 UAH.
As «The Journalist» reported, the Kiev region took third place in the road accidents-related death rate.
