The Council of the European Union extended for a year (till June 23, 2019) sanctions that prohibit European companies from investing in Crimea, occupied by Russia, as well as importing goods from the peninsula.
The corresponding decision is published on the European Council website.
In connection with the illegal annexation of Crimea, sanctions against Russia has extended for a year.
«On 18 June 2018, the Council extended the restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia until 23 June 2019», – the message said.
The measures apply to EU persons and EU based companies. They are limited to the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.
Sanctions include bans on imports to the EU of products from Crimea, investments in Crimea. This means a ban for Europeans or European companies to purchase real estate or businesses in the Crimea, financing of Crimean companies or provide services.
It is prohibited to carry out tourist services, in particular European cruise ships cannot call at all ports in the Crimean peninsula, except in case of emergency.
