The Stockholm International Institute, on the basis of the studies carried out, stated that all the nuclear states, in spite of the reduction in the number of nuclear weapons, are modernizing their existing systems. This is reported by UNN.
СIt is reported that the United States, Russia, Great Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and the North Korea possessed 14,465 nuclear weapons. This figure was more by 470 copies in 2017.
It is noted that most of the reduction in the number of nuclear weapons stockpiles belongs to the United States and Russia, since they account for 92% of the total stockpile of nuclear munitions.
Also, the Institute’s researchers note that, despite making reductions to the stock of nuclear weapons, the United States and Russia have programs to replace and modernize their nuclear warheads and their delivery systems (missiles and aircrafts).
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, an American scientist said that the strength of Russian «Bulava» missile is equal to «160 Hiroshimas».
