One of the greatest Soviet and Ukrainian film directors, Kira Muratova, passed away at the age of 83. Muratova died June 6, 2018, in the evening, in her Odessa apartment after a serious illness.

Muratova wrote scripts and directed a number of films, among which stands out «Asthenic Syndrome», which won The Special jury prize at the 40th Berlin international film festival and the NIKA Awards for best feature film.
She went on to work with some of the most noteworthy actors and entertainers, including Vladimir Vysotsky, Oleg Tabakov and actress Renata Litvinova.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, famous Ukrainian writer died.
