Yulia Tymoshenko demands to check the supplies of drugs, purchasing with funds from the State Budget

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should apply to the Accounts Chamber to check the supply of drugs purchased with funds from the State Budget of Ukraine.

Batkivshchyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko said this at the meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as reported by «112 Ukraine».

According to Tymoshenko, in 2015 Ukraine purchased through international organizations drugs worth 2.2 billion UAH, with full pre-payment at the expense of the State Budget of Ukraine, and «part of the drugs has not been delivered yet», in 2016 – almost 4 billion UAH were spent on medicines, and «at that moment 20 percents of drugs have still not been delivered».

In 2017, 6 billion UAH was allocated from the State Budget for purchasing drugs, and to present date «less than half of the drugs have been delivered», – the faction leader said. At the same time, Tymoshenko underlined that the drugs that have been supplied, often were substandard and expired.

Commenting on Tymoshenko’s proposal, the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber, Valeriy Patskan explained that each faction has its right to apply to the Accounting Chamber in regard of verification of using of the State Budget funds in certain industries or state-owned enterprises, and the Parliament’s appeal is not required.

As «The Journalist» reported, the Accounting Chamber stated that the Heads of state-owned enterprises and ministries do not allow controllers to conduct inspections.
