U.S. Special Representative Volker arrives to “see the crisis” in Donbas

United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has arrived in Donbas, reported the «Voice of America» (VOA).

According to Mr Volker, he intends to «see more about the situation on the ground and to learn about the humanitarian crisis in the Donbas».

Previously the VOA Ukrainian Service chief Myroslava Gongadze reported, that Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has expanded authority to oversee Ukraine.

However, the US Department of State has denied this message and noticed that Volker’s sphere of responsibility remains the same.

This was announced by a representative of the State Department, – TASS reported.

«The message is incorrect. Volker continues his duties as special representative for Ukraine, and his authority remains the same. The US policy is to fully restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine», – the official said.
