A major deal between the Chinese company CEFC, the Glencore consortium and the Sovereign Fund of Qatar is canceled. On May 4, the consortium sent a notice of termination of the transaction to CEFC in accordance with its terms.
If the negotiations were completed successfully, the Chinese company was to obtain a 14.16% stake in Rosneft, reported Interfax.
But the part, which was intended for sale by CEFC, will receive a Sovereign Fund of Qatar (QIA) – an equity stake of 18.93 percent of Rosneft. The deal with Qatar will bring the trader about € 3.7 billion.
«No comment on this information. We are not buyers, we are not sellers, we have nothing to do with it. The package belongs to the consortium, it’s their business», – the press secretary of Rosneft stated .
As «The Journalist» reported, Ukraine will buy gas from Qatar, transit it through Poland.
