The German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said about the possible consequences of the termination of the nuclear deal with Iran.
«It must be remembered what can happen if this agreement collapses, and the Middle East a new stage of the arms race begin», – Deutsche Welle citing Steinmeier.
The German president also recalled the words of former US Secretary, John Kerry, who, after signing the agreement with Iran, said: «We should understand that by this signature we probably prevented the war».
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded sharply to criticism of US President Donald Trump, saying that if the deal will be canceled, the White House would have to «repent like never before in its history». Rouhani confirmed that his country is preparing for the US withdrawal from the agreement.
INFO: The nuclear agreement with Iran, concluded in the summer 2015, provides a permit for Iran’s peaceful use of nuclear power in exchange for Tehran’s promise not to develop nuclear weapons. Iran, on the one hand, as well as the United States, Germany, France, Britain, Russia and China, on the other, agreed that Tehran substantially limits its nuclear program in order to lift all nuclear-related economic sanctions.
