Kyiv authorities plan to attract from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) about EUR 100-140 million for the reconstruction of the thermal power unit.
This was announced by the deputy head of the KCSA, Petro Panteleev, UNIAN reports.
“We have held preliminary negotiations with the EBRD, there is a preliminary approval for lending to the company, as well as the list of investment priorities in the power industry has been approved. Today, a draft decision of the City Council on attracting credit resources for the modernization of the thermal power unit of the city has been prepared. The amount of funding ranges from € 100 to € 140 million,” said Panteleev.
It is noted that the city authorities do not left the idea of attracting an investor to manage the thermal power unit of the capital.
“Two years ago we had consultations with the largest operators of the heat and power systems of Europe, who honestly said that until we change the legislation in this area, until the tariff system will be modernized, until the power system becomes profitable, no investor will come here,” said the deputy head.
As The Journalist reported, the EBRD will help to implement more than 150 business projects in Ukraine.
