European Parliament tightened auto emissions standards

The European Parliament has tightened CO2 emission standards for cars. Since 2030, CO2 emissions of new cars should be reduced by 37.5% compared with the 2021, Deutsche Welle reports.

The European Parliament approved toughening carbon-dioxide emissions standards from new cars in Europe. According to the innovations, from 2030 CO2 emissions from new cars should be reduced by 37.5% compared with the 2021. Carbon dioxide emissions from vans should be reduced by 31%. An intermediate goal for both groups of vehicles is to reduce emissions by 15% by 2025. Standards are the average emissions of all new models sold from one automaker.

As The Journalist reported, the EU plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero.
