Interior Minister Arsen Avakov believes that presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky is a decent person from ‘another world’.
According to the minister, in the first round of the presidential election Zelensky was supported by the “’Russian-speaking’ patriots of Ukraine.
“A part of the electorate, which I call ‘Russian-speaking patriots’, has voted for Zelensky. They were looking for a candidate who would respond exactly to their request, and they found this candidate in him. This is one of the reasons why he has such a high level of trust,” the Liviy Bereh inform agency quotes Avakov as saying.
When asked what emotional impression Zelensky made to him, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs answered: “A decent person from another world. From another plane. Ready to deal with problems, but at the same time honestly admits he is not fully competent in many issues.”
According to Avakov, in his understanding this means that Zelensky is ready to delegate authority.
“However, the question arises: can we, the Ukrainian society, offer the elite of such a quality that can be entrusted with exercising such powers? After all, if he delegates authority to villains, as it happens in some of the ‘Servants of the People’ series, it will be very bad for the country. If it will be delegated to another expats – this is not a solution either,” the minister is convinced.
As The Journalist reported, the CEC calls Poroshenko and Zelensky to prepare for the second round of elections.
