The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) of Venezuela (which supports President Nicolas Maduro) approved on Tuesday a decree to lift parliamentary immunity from opposition leader, Juan Guaido, Reuters reports.
The report notes that it becomes possible to prosecute Guaydo, and arrest him after removal of his parliamentary immunity.
“This decision is formally authorized the continuation of the trial of Guaido,” said the Speaker of the Constitutional Assembly, Diosdado Cabello.
As The Journalist reported, the European Parliament officially recognized Guaido as interim president of Venezuela.
