People across Paraguay have been affected by flooding after two weeks of heavy rain, AFP reported.
“More than 20,000 families across Paraguay have been affected by heavy flooding after two-week torrential rain that caused the country’s main river to burst its banks,” the report said.
A 90-day emergency was declared in Asuncion on Wednesday due to the flooding. Some 5,000 families living in the Banado Sur working-class neighborhood on the city outskirts suffered the most.
According to weather forecasters, rainfall in the country will continue until the end of the week.
