US President Donald Trump has changed his mind to immediately close the border with Mexico, The Washington Post informs.
“The head of the White House, after consulting with economic advisers and lawmakers, backed down his threat to close the border. They explained to Trump that in this case, the United States and Mexico would face enormous economic risks. In particular, the American economy will face a sharp blow if such a decision will be made,” the message says.
However, Trump threatened to impose import duties on Mexican cars if Mexico does not stop drug trafficking and migrants into the US. In addition, the American president gave the Mexican authorities a one-year warning to solve these problems.
