Since March 8, 2019, during cease-fire regime in Donbas, enemy launched 239 attacks using weapons of various types; 12 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, another 44 were injured, Ukrinform reports.
“A month after the last cease-fire regime came into force (on March 8), Russian armed forces carried out 239 attacks with various types of weapons, 144 times using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements. They fired 1,010 mortars and 53 artillery shells on the positions of the Ukrainian military and on residential areas. As a result of these attacks, 12 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, another 44 were injured,” said Ihor Prokopchuk, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna, during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
The Ukrainian diplomat also noted that the Russian armed forces continue to expand their positions violating agreed contact line in Donbas and refuse to discuss the additional measures proposed by the Ukrainian side in the framework of the negotiations in Minsk aimed to establish a sustainable and comprehensive ceasefire.
