The Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO Allied Command Operations, General Curtis Scaparotti said this, as Associated Press reports.

“During the Cold War, we understood signals that we sent each other. We talked. I’m not sure we understand them today just as good,” the general emphasized.

Curtis Scaparotti stressed that during his time at his post, he twice met with Valeriy Gerasimov, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, and called him on the phone several times.

He notes that the opponents must communicate more, which will allow them to better understand each other’s intentions and capabilities.

As The Journalist reported, Poltorak noted that the most important thing for Ukraine is joining NATO.
