The presidential candidate of Ukraine, the current head of state Petro Poroshenko plans to bring peace in Donbas after his victory in the second round of presidential elections.
“The first thing I want to bring, right after the victory in the presidential elections, is peace. The beginning of the political process in Donbas with preservation of the unitary system, with preservation and restoration of sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state,” Poroshenko said.
According to the press service of the head of state, “there must be a breakthrough in the release of prisoners.” The President expressed confidence that this should happen in a very short time, immediately after the elections.
Poroshenko added that peace was the key thing discussed during meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron on April 12.
As The Journalist reported, deputy head of the Presidential Administration resigned after a disagreement with Poroshenko.
