Ukraine withdraws from agreement on protection for secret inventions created in USSR

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to terminate the Agreement on Mutual Preservation of Inter-State Secrets in the Area of Legal Protection of Inventions, the Government Portal reports.

This initiative was approved without discussion.

The agreement was designed to provide [by parties] legal protection for secret inventions that were created in the former USSR.

Recall that the document was signed in Minsk on June 4, 1999, by Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Armenia.

As The Journalist reported, Hungary and Russia agreed on gas supplies bypassing Ukraine.
