20 townhouses in the Erestad area in Copenhagen were built of recycled materials, Dezeen writes.

The Lendager Group architectural studio used 850 tons of concrete left over after construction of the Copenhagen metro, restored windows from old houses and production waste wood that could otherwise burn.

Building with this materials allows to approach reducing of carbon dioxide emissions by 60% in 50 years.

All houses are two-storey, have garages and solar panels on the roof. They can be used as residential premises or offices.

As The Journalist reported, Spanish government will finance solar station construction in Chernobyl zone.
