French President Emmanuel Macron demanded from law enforcement officers to take decisive action against hooligans amid possible street riots during mass demonstrations on May 1. This was stated by French presidential spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye, DW reports.
It is reported that trade unions protests have traditionally been scheduled for this year. Also “yellow vests” protesters will take part in the demonstrations.
In this regard, Macron said that it is necessary to strictly oppose those who pursue the goal of provocations of violence and chaos.
In turn, the leadership of the French police banned demonstrations in some areas of Paris, in particular on the Champs Elysees. Also on May 1, over 7,400 law enforcement officers will be attracted to maintain order in the French capital.
As The Journalist reported, Britain and France strengthened the protection of mosques after the slaughter in New Zealand.
