Secretary of Defense Gavin Williamson was dismissed after a data leak from the UK National Security Council.
According to the BBC, the British Prime Minister Theresa May had “lost confidence in Williamson’s ability to serve.”
The investigation was caused by reports of a possible leakage of information from secret negotiations, at which the plan to allow Huawei limited access to help build the UK’s new 5G network was discussed.
Recall that Williamson was the Minister of Defense of Great Britain since 2017.
