US military successfully tested laser systems to shoot down missiles

The United States Air Force successfully shot down several air-launched missiles using a ground-based prototype of a laser machine, The Drive reports.

Laser system tests were held at the testing ground in New Mexico, USA.

The system called Self-Protect High Energy Laser Demonstrator (SHiELD) is intended to eventually be mounted on an American aircraft.

Note that the details of the tests were not disclosed.
