Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, said that in the potentially threatening directions, an increase in troop forces was carried out, which allowed ensuring the readiness to reflect aggression not only from the east of Ukraine but also from any other direction.
Poroshenko reminded that a year ago, the anti-terrorist operation was reformatted in Operation United forces. Although the submission to Verkhovna Rada of the law on the de-occupation of the Donbas then had a number of critical remarks, this document “provides new forces, new force and new possibilities for the Armed Forces”.
“By joint efforts, we have expanded the system of military authorities, formed the command of Airborne Assault Force, command of Special Operations Forces, JFO Headquarters, which have already acquired the ability to manage subordinate troops. A number of new combat brigades and military units of operational, logistic and technical support have been formed,” the president said.
“In potentially threatening directions, the building up of appropriate groups of troops has been created and conducted, which has made it possible to ensure readiness to reflect aggression not only from the east but also from any other direction. Taking into account available forces and means, system of air defense of the state is built up. Increased aircraft fleet and combat composition of anti-aircraft missile troops. Our aviation is strengthening and gaining more skill”,- the head of state emphasized.
In addition, at the new locations of the disposition, Navy is restored, Marine command and command of the Marines formed, which acquire new abilities.
