Facebook has removed more than 100 fake Russian pages that were used for anti-Ukrainian propaganda. About this in his blog wrote the head of cyber security department Facebook Nathaniel Gleicher.

He noted that 97 pages and groups on Facebook were deleted, which were involved in coordinated unnatural behavior within the network originating from Russia and focused on Ukraine.

The people behind these pages and groups often made posts about the conflict in the east of Ukraine wrote about political news in the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Europe, as well as about the civil war in Syria.

In addition, a similar Russian network was removed from 21 pages on this social network and Instagram, which focused on Austria, the Baltic countries, Germany, Spain and the UK.

According to him, both of the identified operations took place from Russia and used similar tactics, creating a network of accounts with the aim of misleading as to who they were and what they were doing.

Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that Facebook has deleted 97 more groups and accounts that distributed fakes about the situation in Ukraine.
