Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andrii Parubiy, called on Kenyan Parliament to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people.
“He called on the Kenyan parliament to support the resolution recognizing the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian nation,” Parubiy said and expressed hope that Kenya will become another country that recognizes the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people.
In addition, the parliamentary speaker expressed interest in opening the Kenyan embassy in Kyiv. In his opinion, this would significantly help expand cooperation between the two countries, reports Ukrinform.
“During the meeting we discussed a number of areas of cooperation, starting from trade and ending with parliamentary cooperation itself. We agreed that a friendship group with Ukraine will be created in the Kenya Parliament in the near future. Such a group has already been created in the Ukrainian parliament,” said Parubiy.
As the “Journalist” reported, a petition on the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide appeared on the website of the German parliament.
