Natalia Shaptala becomes new head of Constitutional Court

Natalya Shaptala was elected as the new chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

“Natalya Shaptala was elected as the new chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine receiving 12 votes in favor,” UNIAN reports.

It is known that Mrs Shaptala was born in 1959 in Donetsk. In 1987 she graduated from the law faculty of the Altai State University. She worked as a judge in the courts of the Donetsk Oblast. In September 2010, the X Congress of Judges of Ukraine appointed her judge of the Constitutional Court.

The new head of Constitutional Court declared UAH 2,873,807 in wages, UAH 14,316 in wages received part-time at the National Academy of Internal Affairs and UAH 72,370 of pension. She also received UAH 38,173 of interest from bank deposits.

It should be noted that the 9-year term of office of the newly elected head of the Constitutional Court, Natalya Shaptala, expires in September of this year.

As The Journalist reported, the judges of the Constitutional Court by a majority of votes voted for the resignation of Stanislav Shevchuk.
