The State Statistics Service of Ukraine said that the European Union is the number one market for Ukrainian exporters.
Thus, the export of goods from Ukraine in the Q1 of 2019 grew by 7.4% compared with the same period in 2018, and amounted to USD 12.3 billion.
The share of the European market in total exports amounted to 42.7%. Products of the agricultural sector and metallurgy are in the greatest demand in terms of products. Moreover, the growth of grain exports in the Q1 of 2019 amounted to 52%, Ukraine’s Cabinet reported.
Exports of services grew by 12.3% up to USD 2.87 billion. In the services segment, the EU market also ranked first with a 33.6% share. By type of service, the most demanded areas are transport, telecommunications, business services, including scientific, and processing industry.
Indicators of overall economic growth also complement the export development trends. According to operational estimates of the State Statistics Service, real Ukraine’s GDP growth in the first quarter amounted to 2.2%. Ukraine’s economy is growing for the 13th consecutive quarter.
