The Law on the maintaining Ukrainian as the national language No.2704-VIII was published in the official parliamentary edition of the Voice of Ukraine.
On April 25, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the state language by 278 votes. On May 14, the deputies rejected four draft resolutions that did not allow the Speaker of Parliament to sign the document and pass it on to the President for signature. On the same day, Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy signed the bill. On May 15 the law was signed by the head of state Petro Poroshenko.
As The Journalist reported, the Kyiv court refused to consider a lawsuit about language law.
