Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport (Zhulyany) put into operation the renewed, extended up to 23,700 thousand square meters, terminal A.
This was announced by the founder of the investment group UFuture, Vasyl Khmelnitskiy, the co-owner of the airport management company, UNIAN reports.
“We decided to expand the international terminal so that passengers do not stand in line at peak hours. Our group systematically reinvests profits in the development of the airport and only in the current reconstruction of the new terminal were invested UAH 630 million,” the co-owner said.
Khmelnitskiy noted that the expansion of the terminal will allow to serving two times more passengers, as well as improve the comfort of staying at the airport.
“Earlier the Terminal A could serve up to a thousand passengers per hour. Accordingly, these passengers spent about 50-60 minutes to undergo formal procedures. After the expansion of the terminal, they can go through all the formal procedures twice as fast,” he said.
Also, according to Khmelnitskiy, a new parking for 135 parking lots was built on the station square in front of the new wing of the terminal, which increased by 40% the airport parking capacity.
