Austria’s Sebastian Kurz faces no-confidence vote at a special meeting of the Parliament. This was announced by the chairman of the lower house of the Austrian parliament, Wolfgang Sobotka, reports the German international television and radio company DW.
The reason for convening this meeting was the governmental crisis in Austria, which was provoked by the German editions Spiegel and Süddeutsche Zeitzung published videotapes in which former Austrian Deputy Prime Minister Heinz-Christian Strache communicates with the Russian woman, who offers money and electoral support in exchange for return services.
The Austrian Freedom Party left the government of Prime Minister Sebastian Kurtz ahead of schedule after he announced the resignation of Interior Minister Herbert Kickle. As a result, the coalition collapsed.
As The Journalist reported, elections to the European Parliament were held: the Kurtz party is leading in Austria, and Merkel in Germany.
