The World Environment Day which was established by the decision of the UN General Assembly on December 15, 1972 on the opening day of the UN Conference on the Environment (Stockholm, June 5-16, 1972), is celebrated today, as Ukrinform reports.
The World Environment Day should encourage as many people as possible to take action and prevent the pressure on the planet’s natural life-support systems, which are constantly growing, to reach its critical point.
The host country of the World Environment Day in 2019 is China. The theme of this year is air pollution.
