The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense decided to transfer to the discretion of the Parliament a draft resolution submitted by President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding dismissal of Vasyl Hrytsak from the position of Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (No. 10345).

The corresponding decision was made the day before, on June 5, at the committee meeting.

“At the discretion of the session hall”, – said the head of the Committee Serhii Pashynsky after discussing the issue.

The Committee members supported him by voting.

In addition, the VRU Profile Committee supported the draft resolution on the proposal of the President on dismissal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin.

At the Committee meeting, the Radical Party deputy Viktor Vovk said that the faction would not vote for the given decisions until the newly elected president submitted a new candidate for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs to the parliament.

At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada Committee did not support the draft resolution submitted by the President on dismissal of Stepan Poltorak from the post of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine (#10344).

While discussing the issue, the deputies stated that after Poltorak’s dismissal the ministry would be “decapitated”.

The president’s representative in the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that as soon as the VR approve Poltorak’s dismissal, the president will submit a new candidate for this position.

As The Journalist reported Ukraine’s Cabinet appealed to President to appoint new RSA heads as soon as possible.
