Ford car manufacturer intends to disclose information about the closure of its engine plant – in the city of Bridgend (Wales) in the United Kingdom. This was reported by the Reuters.

The news agency believes that the closure of the plant, which employs about 2,000 people today, will be a blow for the British automotive industry.

A source in the company said that the closure of the plant will be announced on June 6, at a meeting of officials of the Unite Union with the American automaker.

The press service of the automotive company did not comment on this information.

Recall that Ford has two factories in Britain today – in Bridgend and Dagenham. It produces about 1.3 million engines.
