The EU leaders extended investment and import ban on the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula until June 23, 2020.
This is stated in the message on the European Council website in the framework of the summit of the heads of states and governments of the EU member states.
“On June 20, the European Council extended restrictive measures, imposed in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia, until June 23, 2020,” the report said.
These measures concern the EU companies and individuals. The European Council also noted that according to the declaration of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, dated March 17, “5 years after the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia, the EU remains firm in its commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
“The EU continues to condemn this violation of international law,” the European Council said.
As The Journalist reported, Bolton believes Zelensky’s election creates necessary conditions for settlement situation in Donbas.
