The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine will study the possibility of conducting an audit regarding efficiency of the gas transportation system (GTS) of Ukraine operated by the Ukrtransgaz, in order to prevent its bankruptcy.
This was stated by the head of the department Valerii Patskan.
“The Accounting Chamber will study the possibility of auditing the management efficiency of the gas transportation system of Ukraine. According to the chairman of the Accounting Chamber Valerii Patskan, the relevant decision was made at the meeting,” the message said.
The ministry noted that the decision was taken on the basis of a deputy’s appeal by Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkyvschyna faction.
In her request, the MP said that “in order to protect the interests of the state and prevent Ukrtransgaz’s bankruptcy, as well as to ensure the safety of transportation and supply of the natural gas, including the smooth operation of Ukraine’s gas transportation system,” it is necessary to conduct an “audit of the efficient use of the state-owned objects with tangible and other assets.”
According to the head of the Accounting Chamber, the final decision on an appropriate audit will be taken by the Accounts Chamber at its extraordinary meeting on July 1 after all documents are carefully examined.
