President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed ways on further enhancement of the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
According to the Presidential press service, during the telephone conversation the sides positively noted the results of the recent meeting of diplomatic advisers in the “Norman format” in Paris, which should give an impetus to the Trilateral Contact Group activities.
The President of Ukraine and the Federal Chancellor of Germany stressed the need to achieve progress in the release of Ukrainian hostages and political prisoners in the near future, as well as the completion of the disengagement process in the Stanytsia Luhanska by dismantling fortifications and demining the area.
Zelensky and Merkel also discussed the issue of further ensuring the gas transit through the territory of Ukraine.
The prospects for the implementation of bilateral investment projects have been specifically discussed.
