Ukraine, US signed memorandum on POW/missing persons

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with US Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. The Memorandum was signed at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Valerii Chaly and Agency Director Kelly McKeague. This was reported by the embassy press service.

Thanks to the provisions of the document, it will be possible to search in Ukraine and return to the United States the remains of American soldiers who died during the World War Second.

The document also provides for the exchange of experience with the American side on the peculiarities of the search for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other power structures who went missing or were captured during the current armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
